Our Clinical Services
All of our new patients have a Health check if they are over the age of 15yrs. Our Nurse or Health Care Assistant will check weight, height, blood pressure and note any history that would be necessary for our GP's to be aware of. Our patients can also book to have regular blood pressure checks on site.
Patients are generally seen at the surgery, but between the hours of 8.30 am and 6.00 pm Monday to Friday, patients may be seen at home if the doctor considers a home visit necessary because of the patient’s medical condition. Please call the surgery as soon as possible in the morning if you believe a home visit to be necessary.
If you are absent from work less than 7 days, including a weekend, a Self Certification Form can be obtained from your employer. Doctor's Certificates are only required for absences of more than 7 days and cannot be issued for shorter periods. Only absences of seven days or longer require a certificate which can be obtained by the doctor.
If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to speak to a receptionist and make a telephone appointment with the Practice Nurse to discuss your travel arrangements.
We are an NHS practice and most services are free to our patients. However, some services are not part of the NHS and a fee will be charged. This includes insurance medicals and reports, employment medicals, private certificates, BUPA/PPA forms, HGV licenses, some travel vaccinations, passport signatures, and letters for local authorities, schools, etc. A current list of fees is available at reception.
Your doctor or practice nurse will have the contact number for your local Smoking Cessation Group.
Call the NHS Smoking Helpline 0800 169 0169.
We are a Training Practice and have a registrar GP and medical students – if you do not wish to be seen by a medical student please let the receptionist know.
We operate an appointment system. Appointments can be booked in advance, and there are some appointments available to be booked for the same day. These will be made available at 8.30 am for that day.
If you need to see the doctor urgently, please tell the receptionist and you will be seen as soon as possible within 24 hours.
